Trimming your candle wick is an essential part of ensuring your candle burns properly. As your candle burns carbon and soot can build up on the wick and that will result in your candle burning hotter and faster than normal. It is recommended to keep your wick about 1/8 to 1/4 inch from the base of the candle wax before each burn.
